Matthew started his investment management career at Brewin Dolphin in 2000 where he was made a Divisional Director shortly after becoming fully qualified in 2003. In 2011 he joined Quilter Cheviot where he was involved in setting up a new office for the company based in North Wales. Matthew joined Dragon Investment Managers in 2017 and now leads our UK Equity research.
His 19 years of investment management experience are complemented by the fact that prior to this he spent 7 years as a Management Accountant. He makes sure that the equity portion of our investments, whether held directly or collectively, reflects our strategic view of the markets and he maintains a keen eye on risk and trading discipline.
Gareth began his investment industry career in 2012 having gained a degree in mathematics from the University of Manchester. He is now integral to the Dragon Investment Managers team and takes charge of trading on client portfolios as well as our in-house equity screening process – an essential part of our proprietary research process.
Alongside these responsibilities, Gareth continues to build on his skills and experience, and is currently studying towards the prestigious – and globally recognised – status of Chartered Financial Analyst.
Stephen’s career in financial services began in 1987, progressing in a corporate environment before he established his own business in 1999. This has grown to become a leading independent financial adviser in Wales with connections all over the UK. Since then he has established several other successful financial services companies.
In 2015, after 16 years of working with City-based discretionary fund managers, Stephen felt the time was right for the services and expertise to be provided and controlled in North Wales. Consequently, he worked on the establishment of Dragon Investment Managers.
Stephen now oversees company operations, working closely with the investment management team to continue to grow the business and maintain its focus on its customers and the services they require.
